TNT’s latest new series, Perception, premiered last Monday, in the valuable time slot after The Closer, 10 p.m. EDT. Starring Eric McCormack as a genius neuroscience professor who solves crime mysteries, the show basically combines elements of previously successful series such as Monk, The Closer, Psych, and The Mentalist, but it lacks an element crucial to TV success: a protagonist and close associates whom audiences like, root for, and want to invite into their homes every week.
McCormack and Leigh try their hardest, but the characters they’ve been given to portray just don’t have much of interest to offer. My full review of the show is at PJ Media today.
