The Los Angeles Examiner reports on the discovery of a very uncommon book:

We have all heard, “One person’s trash is another person’s treasure.” How about a rare first edition of George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four being part of 66,000 books donated to a charity?

What Paul Hol found in the small town of Wollongong, Australia, one hour’s drive south of Sydney, could have been found as easily in Las Vegas, Los Angeles or any other city or town. Fortunately he recognized what he held in his hand and didn’t toss it in a bargain bin.

You can get Nineteen Eighty-four—but not a first edition, unfortunately—at Amazon.com.
