KindlingsFest 2010 is a celebration of art and ideas where they intersect with the spiritual.
The event, sponsored by The Kindlings, is a four-day getaway affording intellectual and spiritual stimulation. It includes just the right amount of free time … to enjoy the refreshing wonders of Orcas Island while drinking in a stimulating morning lecture, conversations with artists in residence, and BagEnd Café.
KindlingsFest takes place from Wednesday, July 14 to Saturday, July 17, off the coast of Washington State on beautiful Orcas Island, gem of the San Juan islands. Orcas Island was named by Island Magazine as one of the top ten islands in the world to call home.
Speakers include Poet Luci Shaw (on her friendship with Madeleine L’Engle), Dr. Hal Poe (on the Inklings), Dr. Jeff Keuss, youth culture guru, (on “iPod, YouTube, WiiFit – Friendship through the eyes of Emerging Adults.”) and Nigel Goodwin, Executive Director of Genesis Arts Trust.
The Kindlings is a movement inspired by C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, Charles Williams, Dorothy Sayers and a diverse group of gadflies and friends called “The Inklings,” who met in an Oxford pub each week for lively conversation and friendly disputation. We think such discourse should be intelligent, imaginative and hospitable. Our aim is to rekindle the spiritual, intellectual and creative legacy of Christians in culture.

Julana, thank you for the comment. I have sent a message to the folks at The Kindlings website, which is running this event. The American Culture is not putting this on, but if podcasts become available we’ll be sure to link or post them here for your enjoyment.
Can you record these and make them available online, through Itunes or otherwise?
