Love the title of a short post at The Point: “Gutsy Move, Guys.” This, of course, refers to the decision of Comedy Central to develop a new animated series about, you guessed it, Jesus Christ! Yeah, I know, you thought I was going to say a series about “The Prophet” Muhammad. That would have been gutsy, what with a bunch of Jihadists aiming to cut off their heads. But no, we Christians are such pushovers. We actually believe in free speech, and liberty, and letting God take care of the blasphemers himself in his own good time.
But I’m sure the show will be as respectful of the sensibilities of Christians who believe that Jesus Christ actually was God and was raised from the dead, as they are of Muslims who believe Muhammad was a “prophet.”
I see Comedy Comedy Central is once again up to their old habits of cultural bullying. They’re so scared about being attacked by Muslim extremists that they are now turning back to Christianity as a target for their so-called jokes. Well I’m sorry guys but if the door doesn’t swing both ways then Comedy Central not exposed themselves as Cultural Bullies but cowards who are afraid of those who will fight back if they’re religion is ridiculed. Well for me the joke has run its course. I won’t be watching anything on this network again. It’s proof that there limits to pushing the envelope.
