There’s a harsher feel to the Brontës. They are books that contain difficult, extreme emotions — and (maybe) they feel more appropriate in times of economic strife.”

I hope they will take a good look at Anne’s novels. Jane Eyre and Wuthering are overdone. Perhaps they might consider a peek at Agnes Grey or some adaptation of The Professor (including biographical elements.) It is time to look beyond the two ‘safe’ Bronte novels. I love both, but there is more to the Bronte sisters than these two novels.
