The lack of sense of humor award for the week goes to numerous listeners to Matt Patrick’s South Bend sports talk radio program. Patrick joked that God struck down Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio last weekend for beating Notre Dame on a fake field goal in the last seconds of a close, hard-fought game. Obviously he was making light of ND fans’ legendary intensity.

But apparently it was not so obvious to a substantial number of his listeners. Irate complainers jammed the station’s phone lines, emailed death threats and other angry messages to Patrick, and even signed up the hapless humorist for pornography sites (although this may have been a sign of some people’s approval).

A sense of humor indicates a sense of perspective on things. Perspective is in short supply in this time. It also indicates intelligence and wisdom.Draw your own conclusions regarding those two things.  Story here.
