ARRGH, I didn’t look at the date close enough, I missed today! Oh well, have to go with the three tomorrow…
Fred, I hope you got The Freshman and Heaven’s Sake. I hope you’ll also be able to make room for Welcome Danger. I’m looking forward to seeing Feet First and Movie Crazy, as I haven’t seen either of these before.
As to tomorrow’s showings, The Milky Way is all right, though not nearly top of the list for either director McCarey or actor Lloyd,, and the same is true of The Sin of Harold Diddlebock, which has only a little of writer-director Preston Sturges’s usual satirical brilliance.
The idea of plunging the all-American Lloyd into a Sturges social maelstrom is a wonderfully sound concept, but unfortunately both Sturges and Lloyd were well past their respective primes before they got to work together on this one. Still, it’s quite worth watching because of the people involved.
Holy smoke- my DVR doesn’t have room for all this. Gotta grab the essential ones- let’s see, Safety Last, Speedy, what else??
